  1. Hi Transmissions podcast crew,

I know it has been a long time since I have written in, but I heard the seventh anniversary of the show is coming up and wanted to throw my two cents in to the discussion. Wow! I cannot believe it has really been seven years of us listening to Charles, Darryl, Jeremy, and Yoshi talk about toy robots from Japan? In that time as a fandom we have been very lucky to have had Transformer movies, cartoons, comic books, and so many, many toys come out. I am amazed to have seen that this franchise has touched so many people from so many backgrounds. It’s awesome.

Now that being said here are some things I have learned in seven years of being back into Transformers after watching the cartoon in the 1980’s.

    1) Do not buy knock off figures. Not only is it stealing from Hasbro/Takara Tomi, but it hurts third party companies, too. Plus the quality of the products more of than not suck. I have a KO masterpiece Skywarp and his diecast back rail is cracked all the way through, like how does that even happen???

    2) Unfulfilled preorders are a bane of the fandom. Like a lot of people I see the announcements from third party’s such as Fanstoys, Zeta, and Make Toys, and get super excited about them, but it seems like we as collectors are collecting preorders and not action figures. Where is Fanstoys Thomas? Where is Zeta Predaking? We heard about that figure set in February 2019 and Zeta has been quiet since then. Grrr!

    3) Collect what you love, not what is popular or to complete a set. I listen to other toy centric podcasts and read forum posts about people who buy action figures they really do not want, but do it out of a compulsion to complete a set, like buying all the seeker Decepticons, even though they do not like Skywarp or Acid Storm for example. Often times these same people fill guilty or foolish for buying these figures later on and end up selling or trading them to fellow collectors.

    4) Share your love of Transformers with the people in your life. (No explanation needed here I hope 😉 ).

Well that is all I got. I will try to write in more often than every anniversary show. And as always I love everything Transformers related that you guys do so keep it up!

    Best Regards,

    Karubah
