Extra! Episode 33 – Seganomics

On this episode of TransMissions Extra!, we delve into the Sega vs Nintendo video game console rivalry of the early 90’s. We highly recommend the book Console Wars by Blake J. Harris, which tells the story, mostly from the point of view of inside Sega of America, of Sega’s struggle to capture video game market dominance over industry juggernaut Nintendo during the 16-bit console generation. Additionally, we can’t help but reflect on the current state of Nintendo in the video games industry today, compared to how they were viewed over 20 years ago. We hope you enjoy this video game themed TransMissions Extra!

  1. I have pretty much have owned every video game system since the Atari 2600. I have enjoyed every single one. I have had the Atari 2600 , Intellvision , Nintendo , Sega Genesis , Super Nintendo , Nintendo 64 Dreamcast , Sega Saturn , Playstation , Nintendo Gamecube , Xbox , Playstation 2 , Xbox 360 , Playstation 3 , Wii and Playstation 4. I loved them all. Still have all the Playstation systems and a good amount of the games.
Being a fan of the Final Fantasy series I wish I still had kept some of them for collector’s reasons also wanting to get ahold of the original Final Fantasy games.

But I am a big fan of the Playstation series in systems. I always have felt they had more of a wide range of games and extras.
