  1. Darryl said that he was underwhelmed (Trypticon notwithstanding) by this year’s NY Toy Fair… and I get it. TF toys are split 3 ways this year.
The RID toys are simple kids’ toys. Even more samey-same combiners than Combiner Wars. Not sure if there was any/much Rescue Bots stuff.
Movie toys are of limited interest to a lot of adult collectors (and reissues/reused moulds). There’s some lovely paint-apps on the Dinobots

As for Titans Return – we’re of the back half of the line, it’s mostly repaints & retools. Gift-sets of repaints, hooray!

    ——–
I’m sure this is insensitive in some way, but…
I’ve started calling non-transforming statues & such ‘CISFORMERS’ as in “Exactly What Meets the Eye!”

  2. I love the look of the Trypticon he does look like a updated version of G1. Though the only little thing from what I see might be a issue is the deluxe figure who plugs into his chest it looks like it sticks out kinda far. But I never owned the G1 and from what images and such I have seen of him I might be wrong on this.

I do LOVE the Windblade !! She looks like such a great figure. Though do you think she might have the skeletal body of Hignbrow ? I thought that was who she was suppose to be remolded from.

I am also not surprised for the new Prime. I am a fellow Maximal after all.

Lastly all I can say about the MP Dinobot is YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Dual Mirrored Gridwork

What, you think I’ve forgotten you all?!

Hey guys I could not sleep, And then I was thinking I have not touched base with you guys for some time on the site so I wanted to spend my time wisely…namely leaving some “short” (well for me that is, my work manager says I can write novels…whattt?) feedback and my thoughts on this year’s toy fair.

    Show feedback:
I am getting use to the split segments of the show now, and if I didn’t I could just listen to them back to back, no iss. I’m also hypothesizing that you wish to keep the show under a 1 hour or1 ½ hours for editing reasons because of Mike’s new job and now you guys do it…or am I close?
I do miss the classic comic reviews however, and do long for their (hopefully soon) return.
I have been holding back some on this one… BUT I do wish that other than discord there were other was the fans can interact with the cast/show, don’t get me wrong I think discord is good but I believe when you guys do the cast, it’s pretty late and well (for me at least there is no way to listen to it and for me to go to work the next day or now do you guys do Saturdays now?) If the latter is the case I can listen to the show then but I might not because I do enjoy listening to it at work or doing work in this case I’ll be doing some home repair this Saturday and listing to alt mode 13). Also as a fan I believe there are others whom would love to help you fill in for missing cast members if the chance would present itself, or be an occasional fifth wheel, I feel the following: Mystic Marvels, Dogcades (where does that name come from anyway?, %$#@&^% sharkticon hoarder that he is, he won’t get one from Yoshi, that’s for sure!!)RD blade, Dinobot maximize…and well a few others biting at the bit to do it if given the chance, I do feel that’s it is YOUR show you have the final say and all but the fans may give other insights or different viewpoints to our ever growing fandom, but to me it seems its limited to for the most part other podcasters or folks with previous Podcast experience/show appearances only.. I do not wish to offend the cast over this but there is an example of this working/proving both my viewpoints: the hailstorm JPB episode is the most DL ed/popular ep and most used for reference I’ve heard Big c use in reference , BUT IF you do end up looking for someone, There is this chap whom I’ve heard of whom deals with Mirrors and lines I’ve heard of before…and he’s worked with the TF podcast who helped give a TF LA Movie 3 review with Z piper and Ironhide 1975 AND then later ladywreck and AD8M before,. Just saying/putting it out there…wonder who he is, huh, I’ll have to reflect on that one, or is it two? Do a contest for just that perhaps…?

Ok enough with the show thoughts, on to the TOY FAIR!
The titans masters are ok, I have yet to own one or find one I like but I’m thinking on Chrome dome , for he was my first headmaster I ever owned, AND maybe broadside as well, but I don’t care for just the head and part only packs, why make heads for characters who won’t/don’t have the correct bodies?!
Hey, were you a headmaster/targetmaster /powermaster before, no?, well your now a titan master now…im not sure about that still..
I do like the Tidal wave but I’m not sure on the colors, I do own a armada tidal wave, but it not the show colors (but I did get him for $10 in package, so maybe someday I’ll get the original purple one, but he just looks too “Crayola purple” for me) so depending on broadside, IF I can FIND one that is..
Did not care for the 5 packs (you want this?, you have to get maybe the ones you don’t want as well and the $)and/or splitting up the clones
I do like the engineering skeleton used for Nautica from blurr but not so much the colors, I would like to see that somewhat more but done better…what no wench?
I do like the combiner force for RID, thought the 4 member part will take a little getting used to
Not sure of Optimus primal winning the vote, but ok
For the most part other than that is was pretty ok for me, until….
    TRYPTICON:
Over all I’m 2/3rds 3/4 ths ok with him, I do feel that Hasbro went ALL OUT for BIG, and boy he does sure seem so. I do LOVE the hyper detailing and toy only SCALE (did you think I would NOT use that word!?) he seem pretty good, but I do not like the fact it seems with all the titans were missing something, Metroplex was missing slammer and six gun, as well as a additional gun unless you don’t count the SDCC version, which everyone can’t get, Fortress Maximus was missing his two guns (AND the one SHOWN on the VERY package, WTF, Hasbro?!!),gasket and grommet(and or course in turn cog, did a 3p ever look into doing that one?)as well as additional weapons/other things, NOW we get Trips, and there is no city parts to make Brunt, no rotating radar/weapons parts, PLEASE Hasbro don’t do “go big or go home” all out and leave a few things undone just for the size, if you don’t care for third party’s so much, don’t lay the welcome mat down for the to wipe there feet on.
BUT I will say this in his favor so this is not a total gripe fest, I don’t care if he can’t walk, I have the g1 version and other that walking was neat, it made him impossible to get into a good pose, like next to not at all, I am 50/50 on the ship mode vs the battlestation mode, I DO like the eating feature to the titans masters (but not so much for the sinus gun), and the stomach storage/retrieval area, and of course now you can pose him so now you can:
If you get titans return broadside and trips, you can have the little Silverbolt go down his throat and shoot him from the inside like in the episode he did that in “the ultimate weapon”.
And if they ever do a SCALE (yep, again) line of tfs with him you can do the entry ramp into trips in “call of the primitives”…I would like however a 3p do the “booster pack” for both old and new versions Trypticon that was in/that he had in that episode, I’ve never seen/heard a 3p ever think of it, and its there.
I do like him but I miss some of the stuff I feel he should come with as well, btw when was full tilt called “necro”? The wiki says he is sometime known as “necro” and that’s IT..WTF, big c if you would, please?
Over all I’m happy with toy fair this year and the lack of spoilers (not counting deepthoating, of course)
Oh, and I BET dinomax wetted his underwear on that teaser image, right Big C ,he’s gonna buy that UP!
So im going to keep this short, you guys take care and keep up the OUTSTANDING WORK that your fans love.

  4. Cool show guys. All the pictures and toy announcements is getting me hyped for their upcoming releases.

Trypticon looks cool and I am sure people will enjoy him, but I have no interest in him. I think it stems from him being a very blocky figure. Almost like a plastic brick with arms and a tail stuck to it.

TF-01 drift looks good, but I wonder how smoothly the transformation will go. These IDW inspired figures seem to take a lot of skill and patience to get right going from bot to alt mode (see GCreation’s not Optimus Prime).

    From the TF generations booth..
-That Astro Train mold is getting some mileage. heheh.
-The Ginrai Optimus looks cool, but blocky in style. I think that would be a good first Optimus figure for a young kid.
-Blitzwing looks good although the hollowness of his arms is offputting.
-Windblade…needs a redesign. Her alt mode always looks weird and under done. It is just too easy to see her legs in that form.

    Transformers the Last Knight:
-If nothing else the Megatron design is very cool. I really dig the alt and bot mode.
-Why no Optimus Prime figure for the movie? Are they saving that for later because of possible spoilers?
