  1. I’m surprised you guys seem to think the only way Transformers can be play with by young girls is if they include female characters. So you guys think girls can only play with little female robots?

      • Sure seem to be implied. Your talk of the many new female toys IMMEDIATELY turned a talk about female fans, not about female characters. As if the one reason to have female characters was the female fans. So I ask this… can you guys discuss the female characters and toys without mentioning female fans? What are the OTHER reasons to have them?

    • No, not at all. But I do think part of playing and imagining is being able to imagine yourself as part of the characters and stories that engage you. If you’re a girl, it’s easier if there are many different female characters to identify with, just as if you’re a boy, it’s easier if there are many different male characters to identify with. Only having one or the other doesn’t exclude, but it does limit the relatability for the other side.

  2. As a female, I do enjoy having more and more female bots in the comics. What I don’t like is the over hype that people make over each new female that pops up. I just want us to keep having new robots, both “male” and “female”, and just enjoy the stories told and cool designs for potential figures and art.

  3. I know it seems like Hasbro is blowing their trumpet over the female bots but the truth is if they don’t tell people, how will kids/parents know? For the last 30 years the mass view from TV was there’s one female bot (I’m probably doing Beast Wars a disservice but didn’t watch it). RID 2015 will be doing a bit to mitigate that but that’s not the line where these figures are ending up.

Great show as always guys. Keep ’em coming

    • Forgot to say, they especially need to tell people if they aren’t going to make them pink (and the shouldn’t) because like you guys said, without her voice there’s nothing that particularly gives away Strongarm’s gender in her design.

Kind of looking forward to seeing if you pick this up in light of Alex Milne’s designs for Thunderclash’s crew in the next MTMTE

  4. Dual mirrored gridwork

Hey gang ,been outta the loop for a few days, been in michigan for palladium books open house and it’s been a blast, but a highlight to add to if as well I went to a comic book /toy store and I must admit, I almost went a little wild, check those tweets i sent, this was a REALLY nice store..the funny thing about it is that they had more stock but there was a comment comments going on in Michigan this weekend as well therefore they did not have everything they could had it was something to see!!
And I even saw a giant tire for Yoshi!

  5. Dual mirrored gridwork

    Sorry, comic con…Darn spell check!

  6. Hey, DMG was in my neighborhood. I know the giant tire.

  7. I have to one key thing about this episode…. WHERE WAS THE COMIC REVIEW???? Granted yes there was no new issue to review , why not the Return of Classic Review??? It has been a long while since we heard Yoshi’s thoughts on the G1 comics. I have been wondering why you haven’t had one in a LONG LONG LONG time. But on that note I would love to get in with you guys on some of those. Especially when you reach the late 30s issue number’s when Spike and Fort Max are shown. Maybe you guys let me guest on those???? Here is hoping.
The one thing I want to say about the male and female thing for the TFs. Is I am tired of hearing about the sexism of it. I know it par for the course that you make a female character for some series it will be blown out in the XXX world. It make me feel sick with the idea of what people like seeing art of for instance Arcee with huge metallic boobs or some other crazy stuff. Now granted I know that the porn industry makes a s*** ton of money from this kind of stuff. But still does it have to be on everything????

  8. I should also note that there is a roller for the YOTH Optimus Prime. I have it !!! I got it with a extra gun and the hose and pump for $20 off Ebay. I can show you guys on the next Hangout if you like. Or sooner if you guys come to a hangout on Saturday, or a even better way if I can guest host on the show!!!
